"This poster focuses on the implementation of good agricultural practice, emphasizing the importance of the cultivation of seed stock for the achievement of more plentiful harvests . . . the woman herself at first glance appears to represent the traditional image of a peasant, but the gold star on her chest indicates that she is a Hero of Socialist Labor, one of the highest awards given in the Soviet Union . . . the sign behind the woman indicates that she is standing in a field that has been set aside for growing seed for future harvests, while power lines and a train demonstrate the Soviet application of industrial technology to agriculture" (Koretsky p. 234).
